We had the tagline from this verse on a door knocker on the front door of my childhood home. At the time when I was a kid, I thought it was a little strong. Looking back I am happy my parents were proud of their faith, and that they wore their faith and what their home stood for on their front door. They were not perfect and I’m pretty sure they were well aware of that. They strove to do the best they could in the eyes of God everyday.
BEFORE YOU READ TODAY’S PASSAGE…
STOP: Lord, where is my heart today?
LOOK: Lord, help me discover new truth from your Word today.
LISTEN: Lord, what is your thought for me today from your Word?
Now if you are unwilling to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served in the region beyond the River or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.
RESPOND:
Lord, what do I need to talk with You about?
