Krista and I went to a Reds game recently. After the game we were downtown on Fountain Square listening to a band warm up, eating ice cream. A guy walked by with a shopping cart, and said “ice cream sounds good today.” Without hesitation Krista asks him if he wants some. Note it wasn’t me that asked. So we bought him a banana split and talked to him for a while. We talked about how he got in this spot, his family, and he showed us some pictures. Krista asked him what we could do for him and he said, “pray.” I recently read a book “Everybody Always,” by Bob Goff. In the book he gave people In and Out burgers randomly without telling them it was “showing them God’s love,” etc. etc., that they would already know it. It was kind of like that. Say a prayer for the guy in both pictures above, his name is Garrison. He’ll appreciate it.

BEFORE YOU READ TODAY’S PASSAGE…
STOP: Lord, where is my heart today?
LOOK: Lord, help me discover new truth from your Word today.
LISTEN: Lord, what is your thought for me today from your Word?

Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God as something to be exploited, but emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, being born in human likeness. And being found in human form, he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death— even death on a cross. Therefore God also highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

‭‭‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:5-11‬ ‭NRSV‬‬

RESPOND:
Lord, what do I need to talk with You about?
Lord, what are you asking me to do?
